I started my love and passion for art at a very young age. Drawing, painting, coloring, creating with anything that I could find of interest. My first memorable and recognized art was in 7th grade English class with the illustrations of poems. From that time, I was hooked! I created acrylic paintings of animal characters, and pencil drawings of animals in nature.
My undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stout was in Art. I started my own card and art prints business of wildlife animal designs in 1992, Custom Notables by Joan. Over the years my interest in art has evolved and became more diverse with featuring custom designed watercolor designs of wildlife, birds, flowers, landscapes, and domestic animals. These quality designs are created with watercolor, acrylic, color pencil, digital painting, texturing mediums and techniques, along with multi-media art.
